If you’re looking for a romantic village that has the feel of a Mediterranean seaside community with fabulous views of San Francisco, Angel Island, Alcatraz Island and the Golden Gate Bridge, plus access to world-class sailing, you’ve found it in Sausalito.

Located at the southern most tip of Marin County just across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco, Sausalito was first established in the mid 19th century, making it one of the oldest communities in the North Bay region. Early Spanish explorers named the community “Saucelito” for the little willow trees they found growing there.

A stroll along the downtown reveals world famous art galleries, fantastic restaurants and sunny open-air cafes.

Sausalito is also surrounded on three sides by the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, which is part of nearly 40 square miles of publicly accessible open space.
